What are the differences between iPod models?

Here's a comparison of the key differences between iPod models I offer:

What are the waiting times for an order?

I am located in the United States. All modified iPods are built to order. Once you complete your payment, we start sourcing all the necessary parts. From payment, it takes approximately 30-60 days to have your iPod ready, though it is quite possible it will be completed sooner. We appreciate your patience!

What Bluetooth headphones are compatible?

Bluetooth-enabled iPods are compatible with most modern Bluetooth headphones. However, certain wireless speakers, headphones, and earbuds may be incompatible. There is no guarantee of any wireless device being compatible unless listed below:

What makes these iPods different from original iPods?

We combine the classic iPod design with modern technology. Our devices feature Bluetooth connectivity, flash storage up to 1TB (compared to the original's maximum of 160GB), and brand new batteries with extended life.

How long does the battery last?

All modified iPods come with new high-capacity batteries that provide up to 50 hours of audio playback. Battery life varies depending on usage, volume level, and whether features like Bluetooth are active.

Can I connect to wireless headphones or speakers?

Yes! All Bluetooth-enabled models can connect to most Bluetooth headphones, earbuds, or speakers. The original headphone jack still functions as well, giving you the flexibility to use both wired and wireless audio devices. The only functionality that is reporpused is the hold switch, which is now used as a On/Off and Pairing button for Bluetooth.

Do you ship internationally?

I am based in the United States. At the moment, shipping is available to the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia through USPS. More international shipping options may be available in the future. All prices listed are in USD.

What warranty is included?

Each iPod includes a 30-day limited warranty that covers only manufacturer defects and hardware failures under normal use conditions. Under this warranty:

  • Coverage begins on the date of shipment
  • Warranty service is limited to repair of the original defect only
  • Returns or refunds are not accepted under any circumstances

This warranty explicitly excludes:

  • Physical damage of any kind
  • Water or liquid damage
  • Damage from unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Cosmetic imperfections

For warranty service, contact austin@retropods.io within the 30-day period with proof of purchase and detailed description of the issue.

How do I transfer music to my iPod?

You can sync music using iTunes on Windows or Mac. Each iPod comes with instructions for various for music transfer. If you have a modern mac that does not support iTunes, the iPod will show up in Finder as a storage device with a basic syncing interface.

What's included in the box?

Each iPod comes with a USB charging cable, a documentation, and basic wired earbuds.
